Well, it looks like the Patriots are at it again! In a new development of Spy-gate, the
Patriots are under investigation for filming the Cincinnati Bengal’s sideline...Sorry,
first, the Jets and now the Bengals?!
The filming took place during the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns.
Reports have said a total of 8 minutes were filmed and displayed Cincinnati players
moving on and off the field, as well as their coaches’ hand signals.
Last week on Monday Night Football, the organization released a statement
expressing their fault of inappropriately filming the sidelines of the Cincinnati
Bengals, and stated the footage was not intended to be used for anything but
providing a description on a Patriot’s Advance Scout at work.
This was a part of Robert Kraft Productions’ web-documentary series “Do Your Job”.
The film crew received permission from the Cleveland Browns Organization to film
the documentary, but the Patriots failed to notify the Bengals or the NFL.
Weird…
And of course, Coach Bill Belichick denies knowing about the film production, and
states he has no idea this was transpiring.
Okay…
So, the documentary series needed 8 MINUTES of the Bengals’ sideline with their
coaches’ hand signals and certain player combinations for their offensive and
defensive schemes?
Really?
Coach Belichick has no idea about the filming, even though we all know the
influence he has on the organization. Not to mention, he was investigated for the
same charge back in the 2007 filming of the New York Jets, and was found guilty…
Again, the excuse they’re giving us this time is that they’re filming a mini-web
documentary series produced by the owner Robert Craft!?
WOW…
This organization has always carried around a certain stench of sketchy dealings
from Spy-gate to Deflate-gate. For this to come to light again it makes me wonder…
In the near future I see the NFL doing some sort of “slap on the wrist” punishment
for the Patriots. Most likely a fine and possible loss of draft picks…Possibly,
suspending Coach Belichick for two weeks?
Personally, not only do I feel the Patriots organization have dealt with forms of cheating in the past, but they have also lied about it. The organization’s character is always in question, and for them to get caught again really doesn’t shed a positive light.
In no way am I accusing them of cheating every season, and believe me, I still believe
they are the gold standard for any sports organization as far as winning goes...
But, when you consider the following factors: Brady’s age, they have no real talent on
offense and they can’t seem to win against a quality team… they just might have
resorted to desperate strategic means, AGAIN!
