"Mamba Moments" Celebrating The Life of Kobe Bryant

The world is still in disbelief after yesterdays devastating news that Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and 7 others lost their lives in a helicopter crash.

...a helicopter crash..

We still cant understand why this has happened. An icon taken from us far too soon. A man who gave this world so much, but still had so much more to give. Gone forever.

But never forgotten.

He inspired so many of us, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the life of Kobe Bryant, The Black Mamba, by sharing our favorite "Mamba Moments" throughout his long, but far too short career as a ball player, father, and man.

Dino's Mamba Moment:

My Mamba Moment is more personal. I will never forget watching an ESPN special where different NBA all stars talked about Kobe. As if stuttering, they all spoke about his work ethic. They spoke about how he was always the first into the gym, and the last to leave. This left a mark on me as a young man. His relentless drive to be better was/ is always in my mind when I'm faced with adversity. I will forever think about him and how he would react to a situation, and try to model my response to be more like how Kobe would respond. This man has shaped so many lives across America and the World. When I work those extra hours at the office, throw up the last few reps in the weight room, or dream about making myself better, I will do it with #24 in mind. Thank You Kobe Bryant, you will be missed.

Eric's Mamba Moment:

My favorite Mamba Moment was Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. Lakers vs Trail Blazers. Kobe crosses over and throws an alley oop to Shaq with only 45 seconds left in the game.

Tyler's Mamba Moment:

Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Championship series against the Celtics. Playing with a broken finger, Kobe scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. He beat a Celtics team that had KG, Ray Allen, Rondo, and Paul Pierce. At the press conference after the game Kobe said, "I just got one more than Shaq."

Phil's Mamba Moment"

The 2008 Gold Medal game vs. Spain. "The Redeem Team." Kobe dropped 20 points on his way to his first Gold Medal! In the following NBA season, Kobe won his 4th ring.

Ray's Mamba Moment:

Kobe's Oscar winning short film "Dear Basketball" This one hits a little harder today. It showed Kobe's growth as a person.

Whether your Mamba Moment be big or small, long or short, please share it with us. There is no better way to remember someone, than by recalling the things we loved. A celebration of life for the one called Kobe Bryant. You are already missed.

R.I.P.
