Fly Eagles Fly! The Philadelphia Eagles have clinched the NFC Wildcard spot, and now all eyes are on their QB1, number 11, Carson Wentz. Carson has had a very interesting season thus far. His performances varied from elite to average this year, but no one seems to argue about his talent. When he is healthy, both physically and mentally, I believe he can be an elite. However, my mind is not entirely made up.
Carson has yet to win a playoff game. Today will be his NFL Playoff Debut!!!
Despite playing below average teams in the last four weeks (Redskins, Giants, and Jason Garrett’s Cowboys) he has led the Eagles to four straight wins. In each game he threw for over 250 yards and at least 1 TD.
I was always skeptical of Wentz and his ability to take control of a high profile game, but the win over the Dallas Cowboys has me intrigued. A game, which determined who will be the Division Leader in the NFC East. The Eagles clinched a playoff spot with that win.
Carson’s playoff debut today against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks will show Philadelphia a glimpse of the future for the franchise and Wentz’s career. It would be exciting to see another “Eagle’s Magic Superbowl Run”, but will he be able to pull it off?
Carson Wentz has the athleticism, but will he mentally be prepared for the playoffs? Maybe while he was injured he learned from Nick Foles and saw what it took to control a high-pressured situation and close the season with a super bowl win.
Personally, I’m do not think the Eagles will be in the Superbowl, but I could be wrong. It would be fun to watch Number 11 win his playoff game debut.
I hope he’s fired up and ready to play! GO EAGLES!
