The Cleveland Browns are a dumpster fire. Yes, I said it. The team that everyone before the
2019 season had predicted winning the AFC North and maybe even the Super Bowl. The team that has so much talent, potential, and an actual loyal fan base. However, this team has been nothing but a disappointment. Yes, I put a lot of blame on Mr. Mayfield but the two people to blame for this team’s failure is Freddie Kitchens and John Dorsey.
There are three main questions to summarize up the Brown’s post season for this season.
These are questions that Cleveland Brown Fans and Football Fans in general want to know at the end of the day. Will they fire Freddie Kitchens? Will they fire John Dorsey? Where will Odell be suiting up next season?
Freddie Kitchens should be fired as soon as Week 17 is in the books. The man has lost the
team and has lost the chance to prove everyone wrong with a “different” Brown’s team. The
offense before the season looked unstoppable. Mayfield, Beckham, Landry, Chubb, and Njoku. On paper, this team could win the Super Bowl with this kind of offense. However, that didn’t happen and Freddie Kitchen’s play calling offensively is to blame.
Beckham and Njoku (both who did have injuries) have been constantly missing in the offense all season. Mayfield has been a head case on the field and off, and Landry has not been able to revive that wide receiver corps like he did on last year’s Hard Knocks. Chubb who was a bright side for the offense, still couldn’t lead the Brown’s to many victories at the end of the day.
The defense is not going to be let off either. Myles Garret was not playing to his usual stats and we all know his big highlight for the season was hit Rudolph upside the head with a Helmet. Now we don’t even know if Garret will return right away for the 2020 season. Denzel Ward who was an amazing talent last year, has not been as big on secondary as he could of been. The defense was very slow in my opinion and didn’t seem to always monitor the pace of each game the way a defense should, to win a ball game.
Yes, after reading all of that, you must ask yourself, “Well he clearly has woes on both sides, so how can he win?” The answer is: By Doing A Better Job! He failed by not utilizing the pieces and managing each ball game like an NFL Head Coach should each week. It’s a tough league and Head Coaching is not a basic job. He knew the talent he had and the pressure that would bring.
The highlight of sports radio on December 28th is David Njoku’s comments which
has led many media officials that Kitchens has lost that locker room. The Browns will not miss him or what he has brought to the table. What he has brought to the table is jack shit.
John Dorsey aka Mr. Behind The Scenes is not let off either. This man is supposedly a genius at building successful ball clubs. This man has not built anything in Cleveland. He has landed a few pieces on draft day as he was pulling his inner Kevin Costner but what has he done with those pieces. The answer: absolutely nothing!
If Mr. Dorsey decides to bring back Freddie Kitchens to the Cleveland Browns. It will not only be the biggest mistake of his career but it will prove Cleveland hasn’t changed and doesn’t want to win. Both of these men need to take a hard look in the mirror because both of these men are on the hot seat. Also at the end of the day, the Cleveland Browns deserve better.
